On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, nearly everything county-run is closed, including the landfill and drop-off centers, and there is no trash or recycling collection. Parking meters are free that day.

The next day, Friday, November 27, is American Indian Heritage Day. County offices, senior centers and the Health Department are open, trash collection runs, and the courts are closed. If your normal pickup day is Thursday, check the county's trash and recycling pages that week to see when your bins will be collected.

Baltimore County Public Library posts its own holiday schedule, linked from the county's holiday page, so check the library's website before you go. Remember that the Arbutus Branch is closed for maintenance through November 15, so plan on the Catonsville or Lansdowne branch until it reopens.
