Christmas Village in Baltimore 2026: Arbutus Guide
2 November 2026

Christmas Village in Baltimore, the German-style holiday market at West Shore Park in the Inner Harbor, runs Saturday, November 21 through Sunday, December 27, 2026. Visit Baltimore lists admission as free, and it is an easy trip from Arbutus by car, bus or train.
Every year I hear from neighbors who make this a holiday tradition, and I can see why. Grab a warm mug, wander the wooden huts and let the kids ride the carousel under the lights.
When is Christmas Village open in 2026?
The village is open Wednesday through Sunday most weeks, and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Here are the hours from the official Christmas Village in Baltimore website:
| Days | Hours |
|---|---|
| Sunday through Thursday | Noon to 8 p.m. |
| Friday and Saturday | Noon to 9 p.m. |
| Thanksgiving Day (November 26) and Christmas Eve (December 24) | Noon to 5 p.m. |
| Monday, December 21 and Tuesday, December 22 | Open (special holiday week days) |
| Closed | Mondays and Tuesdays, plus Wednesday, November 25 and Christmas Day |
What is there to see and do?
Christmas Village bills itself as Baltimore's authentic German Christmas market. You will find dozens of local and international vendors in holiday huts, European food, and German mulled wine (Gluhwein) served in collectible mugs.
For kids, there are rides including a brand-new Christmas Carousel and a traditional Ferris wheel, the village's gingerbread mascot Gingy, and holiday photos with Santa at the Visitor Center. There is also a Festival of Trees, plus ticketed extras like wine tastings with Boordy Vineyards and a beer tasting with M8 Beer. Check the events page on the village website for tickets and dates.
When is Family Weekend?
Family Weekend is Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13, from noon to 9 p.m. Visit Baltimore's listing says it includes kid-friendly rides, photos with Santa, and festive performances on the stage inside the heated tent.
The weekend also features science experiments with the Maryland Science Center. If your kids are little, this is the weekend I would pick.
How do I get there from Arbutus?
Christmas Village is at West Shore Park, 501 Light Street, at the Inner Harbor. If you drive, the village's website lists a $15 parking discount at the Harbor Court Garage and a $10 discount at Lockwood Place Garage.
On weekdays, neighbors near St. Denis can take the MARC Camden Line to Camden Station, which the village says is about an 11-minute walk. The free Charm City Circulator Purple Route stops at the Baltimore Visitor Center (stop 301), right by the village. For more on train options from our area, see my guide to commuting from Arbutus.
Why does this matter if you are moving to Arbutus?
One of my favorite things about Arbutus is that you get a hometown feel with the whole city's holiday fun just a short drive away. You can spend Saturday at the Inner Harbor and be home for dinner.
If you are planning more holiday outings, my post on Symphony of Lights 2026 covers another favorite holiday light display nearby. You can learn more about life here on my Moving to Arbutus page.
